leadership occurs in the space between

Suggest the story

leadership occurs in the space between (people/things), whereby individuals/groups emerge to influence other individuals/groups. The importance here is that leadership does not reside within an agent, but rather it occurs between agents (individuals/groups). Using this notion, each and every interaction holds the possibility for leadership to emerge. Employees will be able to identify leadership mechanism by which to facilitate appropriate emergence (appropriate as in, successful in that context/condition/environment) and be able to adapt to it, etc. etc. etc..

***The picture on the link though shows that some emergent leadership is not necessarily complex (based on this quick look...but a deeper examination may hold that each of the 3 examples in there are complex...)....the key here is, "the space between".
